Great Concierge Teaching! Using Tammy for my husband who has a traumatic brain injury and has had to re-learn things from arithmetic to spelling and grammar. We've seen so much progress in just 1 year of weekly sessions. She's patient and tailors the sessions to apply to real-world situations for my husband who works part-time as a software engineer. Highly recommend Tammy and her concierge tutoring services!

~ Home schooling parents in need of periodic or whole semester lesson-assistance in one or more subjects
~ Home-bound students in need formal lessons ~ Students who have traveled extensively or otherwise missed school, and are in need of replacement curriculum ~ Students or adults outside a school setting who need to be re-taught particular subjects to achieve their goals What is Concierge Teaching?
~ Home-schooling parents unsure of how to teach a particular set of required lessons choose Concierge Teaching to get the expert educator they need
~ Home-bound students unable to receive their required lessons at school choose Concierge Teaching to get the individualized attention they need ~ Student who needs more than just tutoring assistance with their homework, notes or studies choose Concierge Teaching to get the one-on-one teaching they need ~ Students who have had an extended absence from school choose Concierge Teaching to get the self-paced lessons they need How can this service be utilized?
Example:
A student with a second concussion resulting in traumatic brain injury was rehabilitating her injury and unable to attend classes. When she finally felt up to it, she Zoomed in to a few classes trying, to keep up with her peers. When her parents decided she was well enough for more education but knew that regular school was still too much for her, they hired a "Concierge Teacher" from Sonomarin Tutoring to teach their daughter as often as her health allowed. She was taught curriculum, they used a textbook and technology, she did projects and took exams to check for understanding, and she worked on assignments in-between visits, just like she would in a regular school-room class. But the pace was based on the student's needs, not the school's calendar. Once the student completed her coursework with Sonomarin Tutoring, she was able to network with her school and test out of the class, earning her credits toward graduation. This service is perfect for students with extended absences, such as a student missing school for physical, psychological or social issues, or even a student with extended absences due to sports, out-of-school theatre, family business, etc. Once the student tests out of the contracted course, they can rejoin their peers in the next course at school, as usual. (Please note: it is up to the parents to arrange details such as substituting this method for classroom instruction and testing out of the school's course with their school administrators. Sonomarin Tutoring cannot guarantee that every school will accept/participate in this program.) ~ In addition to teaching important curriculum to your student, a Concierge Teacher prepares lessons, projects, exams, etc outside of meeting times. So invoices will include preparation time, the IRS allotted amount for travel (if any), and reimbursement for any required materials, and actual class time. ~ The Concierge Teacher will teach curriculum like a classroom teacher, but has the flexibility to either schedule classes to end at a school year date, or move through curriculum at the student's (faster or slower) pace How do I arrange for Concierge Teaching?

As a student, I can see your passion for teaching, and it somehow influenced me at the same time; believe it or not, I began to like learning about history... I feel very lucky to have you as one of my teachers...and you are definitely my FAVORITE teacher... I am grateful for all your support and everything that you have taught me ~ Irene W. Janet understands the demands of each project she takes on and works diligently to produce clear, concise, and effective writing. She is wonderful to work with and goes above and beyond what is asked of her. Her attention to detail, tireless editing, reliability, and flexibility are a few of the many qualities that make her an excellent choice for editing or writing projects. She has helped me improve as a writer and constantly pushes me to expand my skill set further. Highly recommended! ~ Sahar A. '14, Novato UC Berkeley class of 2018 |
